Hailstorms over Poland. Warnings for nine provinces

IMGW issued first and second degree warnings against hailstorms for the following provinces: Warmian-Masurian, Podlasie, Podkarpackie, Małopolskie, Śląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Opolskie, parts of Lower Silesia and Kuyavian-Pomeranian.

According to IMGW, second-level alerts apply to Podlasie, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, Małopolskie, Śląskie and parts of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

Rainfall is forecasted for these areas during periods of moderate and severe intensity, and during storms. The forecasted amount of precipitation will be from 40 mm to 60 mm in places. During rainfall, there will be thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 110 km / h, and sometimes hail.

On the other hand, first-level alerts apply in the following voivodeships: Opolskie, parts of Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Warmian-Masurian and Lower Silesian voivodships.

Rainfall is forecast to occur in these areas during periods of moderate and severe intensity. The forecasted amount of precipitation in places will be from 15 mm to 30 mm, and locally up to 50 mm. During precipitation, thunderstorms with hail and possible wind gusts up to 80 km / h may also occur in these areas.

A first-degree warning means that one should expect favorable conditions for the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that can cause material damage and threat to health and life.

On the other hand, a second-degree alert means that you should expect dangerous meteorological phenomena causing very high damage or damage of a size of disasters and a threat to life.

IMGW recommends compliance with all recommendations issued by emergency services in an emergency. He also advises you to adapt your plans to weather conditions.
