Following the hailstorms that hit the south of the department on the night of June 1 to 2, 2022, the Dordogne Chamber of Agriculture sets up a special number to identify the damage in order to compile an aid application file from the Ministry of Agriculture. The objective is to precisely assess the claim, figures at app
ui, to mobilize public authorities. This operation is carried out jointly with the Gironde Chamber of Agriculture.
Farmers affected by damage to crops, buildings, equipment and possible labor problems are invited to contact the crisis unit to report it. The crisis cell number is as follows: 05 53 63 56 50.
In addition, following these severe bad weather, Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, went on Monday June 6 to Saint-Quentin de Caplong (Gironde) then to Castelnau d’Auzan (Gers) with winegrowers also hard hit by these episodes. Through this trip, the Minister wishes to reaffirm all the solidarity and full mobilization of the State with the farmers.
Note thatit also hailed in Spain recently, affecting around 3,000 hectares of vineyards in the province of Valencia, damage that is added to that caused by the rain and cold in March and April.
