Three weeks before he was to be elected at the Conservative Party’s national meeting, Hadia Tajik’s brother Athar Ali Tajik is running as a candidate for a seat on the party’s central board.

– Tajik has informed me that he no longer wants to be a candidate for the position as central board member of the Conservative Party. He will therefore not stand for election at the Conservative Party’s national meeting in three weeks, says the chairman of the election committee, Harald Furre NRK.
Tajik is currently the second deputy representative from Rogaland Conservatives to the Storting.
39-year-old Athar Ali Tajik from Sandnes was nominated for one of the six directly elected seats on the central board for the period 2022/2023 when the nomination committee’s recommendation was presented on 17 February.
Athar Ali Tajik has not responded to NRK’s inquiries in the case.
