Only then did the remaining quarterfinals begin between Chinese Wang Chiang and Canadian Leylah Fernandez.

Svitolin originally did not want to enter the tournament, because in the first round she had Russia’s opponent Anastasia Potapova. In the end, she decided to play and donate bonuses from Monterrey to the security forces of her country, which is facing the Russian invasion. She earned $ 5,800 (136,000 crowns) by participating in the quarterfinals.
