Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on Thursday (10/9/20) opened in the green zone with a 0.14% increase at 5,169.24 levels. After 15 minutes, JCI returned to the red zone, which fell 0.26% to 5,147.59 levels ahead of the release of Indonesia’s export-import data.

Trade data noted that foreign investors did net selling of Rp 102 billion in the regular market today with today’s transaction value of Rp 965 billion.

The shares that are most sold by foreigners today are PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) with net sales of Rp 42 billion and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) which listed net sell amounting to Rp 22 billion.

Meanwhile, the shares most collected by foreigners today are PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) with a net purchase of Rp. 11 billion and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) with net buy amounting to Rp. 6 billion.

Today, export and import data will be released by many countries in the world, including Indonesia. Thirty minutes before the break of the first trading session, BPS will announce the value of Indonesia’s exports and imports for this August.

The consensus gathered by CNBC Indonesia shows that exports and imports in August will still contract. However, the contractions began to slope. The decline in imports is estimated to be deeper than exports, so that the trade balance is predicted to still be in a surplus.

The median value of exports is forecast to decline by 6.5% (yoy), while imports will drop 18.78% (yoy) and the trade balance will experience a surplus of US $ 2.11 billion for the August period.

Furthermore, bourses in the Asian region were observed to vary, the Nikkei in Japan depreciated 0.60%, the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong rose 0.47%, while the STI Index in Singapore flew 0.59%.

Turning to the New York stock exchange, early this morning the three main Wall Street indexes closed with gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose 1.1%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indexes appreciated 1.2% and 1.8%, respectively.
