– Had no intention of finding “the love of my life” – VG

In Monday’s episode, the penultimate episode of “Paradise Hotel”, three couples are left for the final, and the boyfriend and girlfriend Mathias Haukeland and Amalie Paulsen are one of them.

– I had no particular intention of finding “the love of my life”, I was about to say, but I am extremely happy that I did, Haukeland says to VG about the stay at “Paradise Hotel”.

Nor did Paulsen think she would get a boyfriend at the hotel, but already on the first day there was sweet music between Haukeland and Paulsen.

– Even though we had periods where at least I was a little upset, I was still determined that we should stick together in the game. And I got a good feeling and security from Mathias, says Paulsen.

On the flight home from Mexico, she was actually supposed to sit with another participant, but Haukeland took that place. Then it was clear to them that they were lovers, according to Paulsen.

But officially they did not get together until the beginning of March. Then they spent a lot of time in quarantine together, and Paulsen, who is from Fredrikstad, moved to Oslo to get closer to his girlfriend.

– We came home just before the “lock down” and probably only met a couple of days after we got home, she says.

– We just could not stay apart. And it has been a good time for us! We got to know each other and saw each other in slightly different settings.

At the hotel, the two stand together as a couple all the way, except for a small exchange, where they both know they are going back to each other.

– Having her as a partner was a security throughout the stay, Haukeland says.

Now they have been lovers for eight months, but they will not move in together yet.

– We are both clear that we do not want to rush anything. We take it as it comes, when it is natural, he explains.

Paulsen says they probably benefit from missing each other a bit.

The boyfriend and girlfriend are happily in love, and to VG they only have nice things to say about each other.

– Amalie has bones in her nose. She says what she means, and she says it right away. She does not go and ponder, and that’s fine, because then I know where I have her. It creates less uncertainty and we find understanding in each other, Haukeland says.

He is the little brother of the Russian song king Andreas «TIX» Haukeland, who topped VG-list with his song «Karantene» in April. Little brother is also investing in his music career. The two are now working together in their new studio, and both singles and albums are pending.

– I signed up for “Paradise” to use it as a springboard for music, but reality was fun, so we’ll see if there will be something more sometime in the future.

The final of “Paradise Hotel” is Wednesday 4 November. Then we will see if the couple goes all the way, or if they have to see the victory go somewhere else.
