Had a misdiagnosis, Rio Alief reveals neuroendocrine tumor by Clerence Chyntia Idap

GIACARTA, KOMPAS.com– NOAH drummer Rio Arief clarified and explained the cancer suffered by his wife, actress Clerence Chyntia, before her death on October 18, 2022.

Earlier it was circulated that Clerence was rumored to have blood vessel cancer.

But actually the cancer the 28-year-old actress suffers from is a type neuroendocrine tumor.

“Cancer is one of the rare cancers, it’s called a neuroendocrine tumor, that’s it Pencil case“In Indonesia, that’s about 150,000 per year, so 0.005 percent, that’s very rare,” Rio said, quoted by Youtube Brownis Trans tv, Monday (10/24/2022).

“So those who get cancer are nerve cells that are actually all over the body and producing hormones,” he added.

It was also the reason why the cancer in Clerence’s body rapidly progressed from stage 1 to stage 4 within two months.

Rio also said the hospital initially misdiagnosed his wife with more common cancer.

“At first it was misdiagnosed, actually, from a hospital. So I thought it was a common cancer,” Rio said.

“At the time, it was still stage 1b, it was still possible to operate and chemotherapy was not an option at the time,” he added.

At that time the operation that was underway in April actually went well, even in May Clerence still had time to accompany Rio in a concert with Noah in Bandung.

However, after examining the cancer cells, it was discovered that the type of cancer that Clerence suffered from was a neuroendocrine tumor.

A few days after returning home to accompany the Rio concert, Clerence complained of kidney pain.

“Going back to the hospital, it turns out that his lungs are full of lumps (spots),” Rio said.

“The doctor didn’t say the stage, I shot the doctor right away, is this stage 4? ‘Yes’, down immediately, “he continued.

For information, cited from the Mayoclinic website, neuroendocrine tumors are cancer that starts in specialized cells called neuroendocrine cells.

Neuroendocrine cells have similar properties to nerve cells and hormone-producing cells.

Most neuroendocrine tumors occur in the lungs, appendix, small intestine, rectum, and pancreas.

Actress Clerence Chyntia died on October 18, 2022 and was buried in the Jombang Public Cemetery (TPU), south of Tangerang.

Although her name sounds strange, Clerence’s face is quite well known among FTV fans because Clerence has starred in many FTV and soap opera titles.
