Hackers have stolen the data of 37 million customers from T-Mobile

One of the largest US mobile operators, T-Mobile, says that criminals have accessed the company’s computer systems and stolen customer information, including names, birth dates, addresses, emails and phone numbers. A total of 37 million customers have been affected this time. The company has determined that internal systems were breached on January 5 and the security hole was closed the following day.

This is not the first time T-Mobile has experienced such an attack. In August 2021, the data of 77 million customers was stolen from the company, and at that time they also featured driver’s license and social security numbers. At the time, T-Mobile had to pay $350 million in fines and invest another $150 million to improve its security systems.
