The Battle Royale game Apex Legends has been hacked. The game’s list of servers has instead been replaced with a message: “SAVETITANFALL.COM, Titanfall 1 is attacked and also Apex”.
Apex Legends players should also receive a pop-up about an “Important Notice” after matches urging them to visit the same website.
PC Gamer writes that the website in question has been active for a few months and is there to draw attention to the fact that Titanfall 1, a game owned by EA which also owns Apex Legends, has been in poor technical condition for many years resulting in crashes, congested servers and disconnections.
Developer Respawn (which is behind both Apex Legends and Titanfall) has now released a server update that says that the problem with Apex Legends has been fixed. According to the developer, the hack should not affect players’ personal information.
Respawn recently said, before being hacked by Apex Legends, that they are working to fix the problems in Titanfall.
