“Häcken’s Super Talent Rosa Kafaji Hushes Away Crowd with Winning Goal Against Hammarby in Damallsvenskan”

Hushed the away crowd: “Like a derby inside me”

GOTHENBURG/STOCKHOLM. Hammarby has taken its first loss in the damallsvenskan.

Häcken and the super talent Rosa Kafaji saw to that.

The 19-year-old became a hero with the match’s only goal – and celebrated by hushing the away crowd.

It was two, to say the least, strong teams that settled at Hisingen.

Series leader Hammarby had only won in six games, but on the other side of the pitch was gold-chasing Häcken with five straight wins without conceding a goal.

The home team also pushed hard for a lead goal. Admittedly, Hammarby had its chances, but it was Häcken who would take the lead.

“tree”

Julie Blakstad hit a precise cross towards the far post where Rosa Kafaji came running. Häcken’s 19-year-old super talent pushed forward and headed the ball in via the post and in.

– A perfect ball from Blakstad that reaches my head and I can only time it. Baam, into the goal, says Kafaji.

The 19-year-old celebrated by hushing the traveling away supporters.

– I felt like running to them, but I couldn’t. Haha no, I was just kidding. So incredibly nice, she says.

The goal was enough for victory, but it wasn’t far off for Hammarby to equalise. Goalkeeper Jennifer Falk saved several times and in the 88th minute Josefine Rybrink hit a serious mispass whereupon Sara Fornes shot into the post.

Rosa Kafaji cheers for the Hammarby crowd after the winning goal for her Häcken.

“Like a derby”

The 1–0 victory means that Häcken goes up to the same point, 18, as Hammarby. However, the Stockholm team tops the table with a better goal difference.

– So incredibly nice with three important points. All matches are important but this one felt a little extra. It’s like a derby inside me, says Kafaji, who has previously played for Hammarby’s local rival AIK.

Hammarby’s Julia Roddar was less satisfied after the team suffered its first loss of the season.

– It feels really sad. We play a very bad first half and give the game away there, she says.

She continues:

– We basically have whole others. It’s a shame we don’t get a ball in there. We deserved a draw.
