GOTHENBURG. Hammarby must continue to wait for a victory away to Häcken. The last one came 19 years ago.

Hecken turned 0–1 into 2–1 after a late headed goal by Even Hovland.

– It’s heavy, says a disappointed Kim Hellberg.

With two offensive teams on Bravida’s artificial grass, there were chances in both directions immediately. Amor Layouni had several opportunities for Häcken and Viktor Djukanovic threatened for Hammarby.

It became a fixed situation for the guests which paid dividends. A free kick from Nahir Besara touched Mikkel Rygaard and in front of goal Edvin Kurtulus pushed in 1-0 for Hammarby (30).

It was the centre-back’s first Allsvenskan goal in exactly two years. April 21, 2022, the center back became the match winner with the only goal away to Degerfors.

Djukanovic was close to 2–0 but then Andreas Linde saved and Rygaard and Edward Chilufya had chances to equalise.

Decided in the final minutes

Hammarby was about to end the nightmare streak that has not given a win away to Häcken since 2005. After that, Häcken has eleven games at home against Hammarby without a loss.

Bravida has been and continues to be a horror arena for Bajen.

Because the Hisingslaget refused to let go of the suite at home against Bajen.

Nahir Besara had a couple of very good chances to increase the lead at the start of the second half but failed to do so.

The hedge increased the pressure and in the end the payoff came after a very beautiful attack where lively Zeidane Inoussa passed Simon Gustafson who distinctly placed in 1-1 (62).

– Inoussa was really a source of great joy. WE have been waiting for this effort, says coach Paco Johansen.

But there wasn’t even a point against the nightmare opponent away for Hammarby. A well-balanced corner from substitute Pontus Dahbo was headed in by Even Hovland.

On the goal line, Hammarby’s Simon Strand failed to nod and save and the ball went into the roof of the net to make it 2–1 (87) for the home team.

– He often scores nice goals at the end of matches. He has the mental strength when it matters most. All credit to Hovland for his goals and his defensive play, says Johansen.

Hammarby’s nightmare suite at Hisingen lives on. Hedge, on the other hand, continues the upward climb with his second straight victory.

Häcken has medal expectations and Even Hovland was pleased with the victory, but not with the team’s uneven performances so far:

– We pushed Hammarby down in the second half. We are very happy with three points, but we still have some work to do.

– We have many new players, we vary a little too much, it’s not perfect yet, says the centre-back.

Hammarby coach Kim Hellberg was very disappointed:

– We must be able to kill this match. Andreas Linde makes some sick saves. It feels heavy, he says at the press conference.
