Damallsvenskan’s two strongest teams met in a league final at Bravida Arena, where table runner-up Häcken had six points up to an injury and suspension FC Rosengård in the 17th round of 22. The home team started best and in the tenth minute Stine Larsen came loose on the left wing and found Stina Blackstenius in front of goal – the shooting league leader, however, hit the post. A couple of minutes later, Elin Rubensson tested FCR goalkeeper Teagan Micah with a shot that was tipped to a corner, which Larsen then nodded just over.
Rosengård had big problems initially but managed to stabilize the game in the pouring rain on Hisingen. After a fine move down the middle Loreta Kullashi nearly gave the home side a goal after 27 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. The tempo slowed down, and when the team came out to the second half it was on a heavily waterlogged artificial turf.
Here, too, Häcken started strongest, without getting closer than two finishes from Julia Zigiotti Olme who did not disturb Micah. In the 65th minute, Filippa Curmark got the next position but shot outside the goal. The hedge had a violent pressure against the visitors’ goal in the middle of the half. After 74 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Mille Gejl Jensen a chance to increase the lead for FCR, and he did not disappoint. Blackstenius turned up in the penalty area on a pass and managed to put up his 14th Allsvenskan goal with a distinct finish.
Shortly afterwards, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd fired a rock-hard shot into the crossbar, before making it 2-0 from a position closer to the goal in the 79th minute.
Rosenngård was a beaten team and could not cope with a forcing. The victory was necessary for Häcken to retain the opportunities to defend the Swedish Championship gold that Kopparberg / Gothenburg took in 2020. Now the distance up to Rosengård is only three points, with four rounds left.
