Habib Diallo just behind Kylian Mbappé

Thirteen. That’s the number of seconds that elapsed between kick-off and Habib Diallo‘s opening goal for RC Strasbourg Alsace against Montpellier Hérault SC in Round 22 on Sunday (2-0). The Senegalese international was unmarked in the box after a Dimitri Liénard pass and a cross from Morgan Sanson, and he fired confidently past Benjamin Lecomte. The Senegalese international’s quick strike puts him in a strong position in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats’ fastest scorers’ chart.

Second-fastest strike

While Kylian Mbappe remains in the lead after equalling the record for the fastest goal in the history of the French top flight (eight seconds) against LOSC in Round 3, the RC Strasbourg Alsace striker’s effort was the second-fastest goal since the 2006-07 season. It was also the first goal scored by Strasbourg in the first minute of a top-flight match since 21 December 1984 (Gérard Soler against Lens).

Amine Gouiri (Stade Rennais FC) was the other quickest scorer on Matchday 22, moving up to 17th place.
