Habesohn and Liu the hunted in Austria Top 12

Austria’s table tennis aces are facing another national highlight before the turn of the year. On Monday (4.20 p.m., live on ORF Sport +) the Austria Top 12 tournament will take place in the Fürstenfeld town hall. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, spectators are not allowed to be there. In the men’s championship, defending champion Daniel Habesohn is at the top, the first challenger is also a German legionnaire in Stefan Fegerl.

The most prominent absentee is Robert Gardos, who works in France. The defending champion Sofia Polcanova is missing for women. The big hunted is therefore the top seeded Liu Jia, who was in the final last year. As usual, the game will be played in the knockout system, starting with the round of 16, with the first four players on the seeding list initially having a bye.
