Haas F1 Team qualified 10th for Nico Hulkenberg and 17th for Kevin Magnussen in qualifying for the 2023 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. Kevin Magnussen missed the timing and was eliminated in his first Q1 after being red flagged in Q1. However, Nico Hulkenberg followed what his team-mate did last season and made it all the way to Q3. However, Hulkenberg made it through to Q3 with a fantastic run that reminded him of his teammate last season.

Losing the only lap time in the top 10 shootout due to track limits would not have been enough to pass Esteban Ocon. Nico Hulkenberg (10th/no time in Q3): “Unfortunately Q3 wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t ruin the day or the mood. I’m pretty happy with the laps we’ve done in 2019. We knew yesterday how well positioned we were and how competitive we were on one lap, but the real test will be tomorrow. I expect a tough battle, but I’m looking forward to it.” Kevin Magnussen (17th place / 1’31.892) “I ran into traffic at the second final corner. It was a bit of a disappointment, but the race is tomorrow, so I’ll do my best to get a better result there.We still have work to do, so we’ll see how it goes in the race. Guenther Steiner, Team Principal: “It was a pretty good day today. We know what we can do this year and Nico’s comeback was great. We had two down points. Kevin dropped out in Q1. It wasn’t his day today but he knows what he can do and the car is looking good so he should be able to score some points tomorrow and we made it to Q3. Nico, it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to, but 10th is a very good result.The whole team did a great job and everything they have done to build and develop this car since last winter. ‘s work paid off.
