The fire brigade arrived on Wednesday night in Parkwijk. Despite extinguishing work, the car was completely destroyed.
Monday night was also hit. Then, according to regional media, four cars, including a Smart and a Mercedes, and a moped burned down. Police said they suspected a connection, but later ruled it out.
The car fires have been plaguing Haarlem for several years. The multicultural district of Schalkwijk in particular is said to be an epicenter. “Help stop the car fires!” Tweeted the police in 2012. But there seems to be no stopping it. On social media, residents complain about a lack of decisiveness on the part of the police. It has not yet responded to the latest fire.
