The local authority in the district administration has rejected the administrative complaint against Haar’s mayor for alleged cronyism. The authority sees no wrongdoing in the approval of a wine festival on the “Haarer Anger” organized by a party friend. The decision could have been made as an “ongoing matter” of the administration, it says. It would have contradicted the principle of equality to prohibit the retailer Thomas Adametz from organizing the festival just because he is a CSU member.
SPD local councillor Peter Paul Gantzer denounced the approval of the festival on June 29. He spoke of “cronyism in the worst Bavarian sense”. Gantzer criticised a violation of the user regulations and the associated statutes including the price list. The town hall had willingly provided the organiser with building yard services and provided beer benches and tables at too low a price. According to the town hall, the district office explained that the complainant was referring to regulations that were never adopted. The accusation of cronyism, made on the basis of “suspicion”, was potentially damaging to reputation.
