Häagen-Dazs ice cream batches withdrawn from the market – GIS Warning

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate announced the extension of the recall carried out by Häagen-Dazs to a few more batches of ice cream. As explained by the GIS, this is the “update of the warning” from July, which also announced a recall of a batch of ice cream of the same brand.

As stated in the GIS release, this is “an update of the public warning of 07/13/2022 regarding the recall of several batches of ice cream due to the use of an ingredient contaminated with ethylene oxide”. In the first half of July Six batches of Häagen-Dazs ice cream were withdrawn from the market.

GIS announces the recall of a batch of ice cream

“The Chief Sanitary Inspector was informed by the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the extension of the recall carried out by Häagen-Dazs to the following ice cream batches, due to the detection of trace amounts of 2-chloroethanol (a substance derived from ethylene oxide) in them. “- Sanepid wrote on Monday.

He added that “the recipient of the questioned batches of the product in Poland – IGLOTEX SA decided to recall the products that were placed on the market before the company was informed about contamination”.

Recalled Ice Cream Batches – Lot Numbers and Expiration Date

Now, GIS has announced the recall of the following batches of Häagen-Dazs ice cream:

– Belgian Chocolate 460, l, lot number 4266585 (with a minimum durability date of 30/03/2023); – macadamia nut brittle 460ml, lot number 4266569 (04/04/2023) and lot number 4281488 (21/04/2023); – pralines & cream 460ml, lot number 4271507 (09/04/2023); – duo belgian chocolate & vanilla 420ml, lot number 4271142 (15/04/2023).

“You should not eat the batch of products specified in this announcement” – appealed the Sanepid.
