This year, the mother-father-child gymnastics festival took place in the Imhofhalle for the first time, as the middle school hall that was otherwise used could not be used due to the construction work. The trainers Fanny Lauterer and Sabine Haaphoff prepared a course using various equipment with a lot of commitment. The 46 girls and boys aged 18 months to five years were able to master the course well with the help of a parent or grandparent, as they had already practiced this several times in the gymnastics lessons. Repetitions when selecting equipment are very popular with the children, so almost no hour goes by without the instructors lowering the rings or leaving the trampoline in the equipment room. Nevertheless, the children are surprised by new structure variations during the training sessions. The gymnastics festival, which for the little ones is the equivalent of the club championships for older gymnasts, has a long tradition and is very popular with children and parents. That’s why Mayor Simon Schropp, head of the gymnastics department Anita Stöhr and Gitta Zachmann, member of the board of the gymnastics department, insisted on attending this sporting event. In the end, the young gymnasts of course earned a medal, which was personally presented by the club’s board member Isabella Uhl, and a small bag of gummy bears. Unfortunately, after two and a half hours of gymnastics, jumping, running and climbing, some of the children were so exhausted that they were already on their way home for their afternoon nap when the photo was taken.
