World gymnastics superstar Simone Biles is unsurprisingly well ahead of the American Olympic qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics, after the first day played Friday in Saint-Louis (Missouri).
The five-time Olympic champion completed the first rotation of the four approved with a total of 60.565 points. She is clearly ahead of Sunisa Lee (57.666 pts) and Jordan Chiles (57.132 pts).
Biles, 24, was credited with the best scores of the day on vault (15.466 pts), beam (15.133 pts) and floor (15.366 pts), and the third score on uneven bars (14.600 pts).

The first two at the end of the second day, again out of the four approved, played on Sunday will automatically qualify for Tokyo (23 July-8 August). A selection committee will then appoint the other qualified.

Become in 2019 the most medalist gymnast in history in the world championship (men and women combined), with 25 awards, including 19 in gold, Biles will tackle another record in Tokyo: that of the greatest number of coronations Olympic gymnastics (9), established by the Soviet Larissa Latynina in the years 1950-60.
