LIVORNO. They are angry and have little desire to talk. And it is understandable. Because on the morning of January 18, while they were training inside the gym, policemen and carabinieri also entered. And for them the same sanction as for the company was taken: 400 euros, 280 if paid immediately. Five people – two from Livorno and three young Senegalese – received the fine for breaking the anti-coronavirus decree by exercising at GimFive in San Marco, the facility that has decided to stay open challenging the Conte government, in violation of the latest provision.
Police and carabinieri in the GimFive gym: new fine in Livorno
—Four of them, al Tyrrhenian, they declare the same thing: «We received the email from the gym which said that we could return to fitness safely. They put their faces on us, but we thought that the police only fined them, not us ». In reality, the decree speaks clearly and also provides fines for customers. For this they were sanctioned. None of them want to say what his name is: “We prefer not”. Everyone has the receipt of the report in hand. They have just signed it: «The e-mail message we received – says the first to go out, a forty-year-old from Livorno – to tell the truth, it wasn’t very clear. The gym said he would put his face in it, risking opening. I didn’t think I was risking too by going to train. After all, I only used a service, if they are open it’s their problem “.
A few words from the second subscriber, a young man from Livorno. He is going out with his fellow fine: «I was doing the tools on the bench – he says – when the police came in. We all respected the safety distances, naturally wearing masks ».
In line for the sanctions, at the internal counter, also three young Senegalese. One of them, with a patrol from the operational team and a carabinieri mobile radio, was also accompanied to the barracks in Viale Fabbricotti because he had no identity documents.
While two of his friends, both twenty-four, were summoned to the police station two hours after the check, to formalize the sanction. They are sad, angry because they didn’t think they had to pay too: “I didn’t expect it – he says of one of the two – because I had received the opening email and I certainly didn’t think I was risking the sanction”. “We found it open and we came, since we are subscribers,” says the other. Both, on foot, leave when policemen and soldiers leave via Mario Magnozzi, with the gym that remains open, continuing the challenge against the government.
To the fined customers, the personal trainer at work at that time, on the instructions of the Emilian chain, proposed the possibility of using a lawyer of the company, who will deal with appeals to the justice of the peace free of charge: “We and they are in the right – the GimFive communications manager points out again, Federico Milieni – but everyone is responsible for himself, so we will not pay their sanctions. However, we will try to defend them free of charge with our legal department ».
