As competition in artificial intelligence (AI) technology intensifies, the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency (hereinafter referred to as Gyeonggi Agency) is joining hands with global big tech companies to secure domestic talent.
Gyeonggiwon announced that it held the ‘2024 Google Tech Day’ at the Pangyo Gyeonggi AI Campus on the 15th. This event was prepared in collaboration with Google Cloud as part of the ‘2024 AI Tech Day’ series being promoted by Gyeongwon.
This Tech Day, attended by about 80 people, including local startups and students interested in the AI field, was composed of lectures introducing the latest AI technology trends and practical classes where attendees could directly experience the technology, and received a great response from participants. .
Tae-il Jeong, chief engineer at Google Cloud, explained ‘AI and the future of Google’ through case studies in the first lecture. Google’s latest AI technology, cloud service trends, and the potential for industrial innovation through these were introduced. In particular, participants’ attention was focused on the development of generative AI and the prospects for industrial change.
In the second lecture, hands-on practice was conducted on the topic of using AI tools. Participants learned how to improve work efficiency by using Google Workspace’s collaboration tools, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, in conjunction with AI functions. Additionally, we had time to create a simple business app using AppSheet, Google’s no-code development platform.

A trainee who participated in Tech Day said, “Before the training, I had a vague fear of using AI, but after experiencing it myself, I was able to gain insight into how to use AI technology.” He added, “Not only the theory of AI technology, but also practical development capabilities. “It also seems to have improved,” he said.
Kang Seong-cheon, director of the Gyeonggi Institute, said, “I think it is very meaningful to provide Gyeonggi residents with the opportunity to directly experience and learn the latest AI technology from world-class companies through this Google Tech Day.” He added, “We will continue to cooperate with various global companies to help residents of the province.” “It will contribute to strengthening people’s AI capabilities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gyeongwon successfully held a Tech Day with NVIDIA in August, and following this Google Tech Day, it plans to hold additional Tech Days with ‘NVIDIA’ and ‘Amazon Web Services (AWS)’ in November. .
