Gyeonggi-do, 5 gold medals by the second day of the Paralympic Winter Games, ‘2nd overall’

By the 11th, the second day of the 20th National Winter Sports Festival for the Disabled, Gyeonggi-do won 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals, with a total score of 10,898.40, ranking second after Seoul.

In the skating (short track) event held at the Uiam Ice Rink in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, Gyeonggi-do won a total of 8 medals, including 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals, and performed well.

In the ice skating women’s 500m IDD (adults/athletes’ division), Kim Seung-mi (Gyeonggi-do Paralympic Skating Federation/intellectual disability) won the gold medal with a record of 57 seconds and 18 seconds, winning her second consecutive championship, and the ice skating men’s 500m IDD (youth/athletes’ division) Park Si-woo (Gyeonggi-do Paralympic Skating Federation/Intellectual Disability) won the championship with a record of 53 seconds and 67 seconds. Ko Byung-wook (Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Association for the Disabled, Hearing Impaired), who competed in the men’s 500m DB on ice, also won a gold medal with a record of 51 seconds 01.

Biathlon’s Han Seung-hee (physical disability) participated in the women’s biathlon mid-distance 7.5km SITTING held on the same day and won the silver medal with a time of 34 minutes 52 seconds 70 and harvested two silver medals in this event.

Gyeonggi-do continues its medal hunt on the 12th, the third day of the competition.
