Gyeongbuk Province submitted three representative films from the Gyeongbuk International AI/Metaverse Film Festival (GAMFF), which was held for the first time in the country in June this year, to the 25th Newport Beach Film Festival held in Newport Beach, USA from the 17th to the 24th.

The Newport Beach Film Festival, now in its 25th year since its inception in 1999, is a world-renowned international film festival attended by more than 50,000 film fans and industry experts every year.

More than 100 films, including long and short films, documentaries, and animations, from 19 countries around the world will be screened at this film festival, and filmmakers from not only Korea but also Ireland, Australia, Canada, Spain, and Germany also attended.

The opening film Witness (Korean name: Witness, directed by Yang Ik-jun), the film category contest grand prize winner My Dear (directed by Kim So-hee), and the video category contest grand prize winner Lullaby (Korean name Lullaby, directed by Sergei Kochintsev) will be held at the ‘Korean Short Film Showcase’ on the 18th.
