Gwyneth Paltrow returns to the cinema with Timothée Chalamet

“Bones and All,” “Wonka,” and “Dune: Part Two”: Timothée Chalamet (28) has been in front of the camera non-stop as the lead actor in recent years. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow (51, “Shakespeare in Love”), on the other hand, has been a rarity since her last film role in the Marvel hit “Avengers: Endgame” (2019) as the character Pepper Potts. But now she wants to return to the screen alongside Chalamet.

They are shooting the film “Marty Supreme” together under the direction of Josh Safdie, as US industry papers reported. However, little is officially known about the roles and the story.

In July, the studio responsible for the project, A24, posted a photo of a table tennis ball with the inscription “Marty Supreme” on it after the first reports about the project. According to “Variety”, the story is based on the life of the US table tennis professional Marty Reisman (1930 – 2012).

The US brothers Josh and Benny Safdie recently directed the films “Good Time” and “The Black Diamond” together. Josh Safdie (40) is the sole director of “Marty Supreme”.

Paltrow won an Oscar for her leading role in “Shakespeare in Love” (1999). This was followed by projects such as “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “Obsessed” and “Iron Man.” However, she later said she turned down many roles in order to raise her children.

She has a 20-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son with Coldplay singer Chris Martin, her ex-husband. Two years after the divorce, she married producer Brad Falchuk in 2018. As a businesswoman, she founded the lifestyle company Goop in 2008.
