Gwen van Poorten broke off her engagement a few weeks ago. In addition, she lost her belongings during the subsequent move. The presenter announced this on Wednesday in her Instagram Stories.
“I broke off my relationship and engagement a few weeks ago. And I am now in my new house,” Van Poorten says in the video, as she shows her new home.
But her failed relationship is not the only “sad news”, says the 34-year-old presenter. Due to miscommunication, the movers took all her belongings and destroyed them.
“So now I’m in a beautiful house, but everything is gone. It’s like my house has been burned down. All my photos, heirlooms, memories, clothes. My whole life,” she says.
A crying Van Poorten says that she is doing her best to “get herself together”, but does not know how to proceed at the moment. “I have to get through this for a while, but this too will have a place. The only way is up.”
Van Poorten shared the news that she was engaged in September, with a photo of the marriage proposal. Until 2018, Van Poorten was a presenter at BNNVARA. She has her own podcast, called #METZNALLEN.
