Gwen Stefani, the iconic lead singer of No Doubt, is gearing up for an epic reunion with her bandmates at the upcoming Coachella music festival. After nearly a decade apart, Stefani, along with Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, and Adrian Young, is excited to take the stage in Indio, California, this April. However, she admits that there is some work to be done before they can deliver a memorable performance.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Stefani couldn’t contain her excitement about the No Doubt reunion. She expressed her anticipation and even predicted that she would be overcome with laughter when she sees her bandmates on stage. “I’m going to get on stage and look around and just start cracking up because it’s just going to be like riding a bike,” Stefani shared. “We’re going to be like, ‘What are we doing? We’re in the future right now, we’re at Coachella.’ It’s going to be bizarre.”
Despite their enthusiasm, the group has yet to start rehearsing for their highly-anticipated performance. Stefani revealed that she will need to relearn some of No Doubt’s older hits. When asked if she remembers the songs, she replied, “I don’t remember them, no, not at all. I don’t! I think I’m going to have to learn probably like, eight or nine [songs].” She even accidentally let slip that they will be performing “Different People,” one of the first songs she ever wrote. The audience erupted with excitement, causing Stefani to cover her mouth in shock. She quickly tried to backtrack, saying, “We might do that one.”
“Different People” was featured on No Doubt’s third album, “Tragic Kingdom,” released in 1995. The band last reunited in 2012 for their album “Push and Shove,” and their last performance together was in 2015. Fans are eagerly awaiting their reunion at Coachella, where they will join other headliners such as Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is renowned for its diverse lineup and draws music lovers from all over the world. With No Doubt’s reunion, fans can expect an electrifying performance filled with nostalgia and the band’s signature blend of ska, punk, and pop sounds. As Stefani prepares to take the stage with her bandmates once again, the anticipation continues to build. Coachella attendees are in for a treat as they witness the magic of No Doubt’s reunion, a moment that will undoubtedly go down in music history.
