When Gwen and Gavin divorce in 2016 after 13 years of marriage, Gavin gets custody of the dog. According to a source close to the former couple, this is quite strange, since Gwen spent much more time with the dog than Gavin at the time. With Chewy turning out to be deathly ill and running out of time, Gwen is dying to spend some more quality time with him. However, Gavin declined her request.
“Gwen is desperate and would like to see Chewy again to spend some time with him, but Gavin wants nothing to do with it. He is now using the animal as a pawn in their long-standing argument,” the source says. “It’s actually quite childish how the two are behaving now, especially when it comes to something like that.”
The two have three children together, Kingston (16), Zuma (14) and Apollo (8), but would no longer be on speaking terms despite shared custody.
