Gwangmyeong-Siheung, the 3rd new city with 70,000 houses

First announcement of new housing site plan for ‘2/4 measures’
Busan Daejeo-Gwangju Sanjeong yen 31,000 units
It seems that it will be possible to move in only after 2027

Large new cities with 70,000 houses will be built in Gwangmyeong City and Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province. A mini new town will be built in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan and Sanjeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. Although the intention is to increase the supply of housing through new housing sites, some analyzes say that there is a political pavement to capture the votes ahead of the by-election of the Seoul and Busan mayors. On the 24th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport released a new public housing plan to expand the supply of housing in large cities. According to this plan, the government created △1,270,000 m² in Gwangmyeong-siheung district, Gyeonggi-do, △2,440,000 m² of 18,000 houses in the Daejeo district of Busan, △13,000 units of 1.68 million m² in the Sanjeong district of Gwangju to receive advance subscriptions in 2023. Is expected.

The Gwangmyeong Siheung District, which is classified as a 3rd new city, is larger than other 3rd new cities announced last year, such as Wangsuk in Namyangju, Gyosan in Hanam, and Changneung in Goyang. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport believes that it can absorb the demand for housing in Seoul as it is 1km away from the Seoul border and 12km away from Yeouido. The Daejeo district of Busan is adjacent to Gimhae International Airport. It is about 20km away from the new airport project site of Gadeokdo Island, where special legislation is currently being promoted. When entering a new housing site, it is expected that the time to move into a house will be after 2027.
