The comedian Guy Hochman arrived last night (Tuesday) in Malmö in Sweden – where the Eurovision Song Contest is held.
As part of his support for the Israeli delegation, Hochman decided to come to the concert complex carrying an Israeli flag with a Golani symbol on it – but this led to verbal violence by pro-Palestinian supporters, who also came with PLO flags as a sign of support for Hamas.
In the video uploaded to social networks, the pro-Palestinian activists are seen displaying their flags without anyone speaking, while local police officers ask Hochman to accompany them outside the compound, for questioning.
A riot started on the spot after some of the activists spat at Hochman, cursing him in English. Outside the compound, the two police officers made it clear to Hochman that the Israeli flag had no place in the compound, despite the fact that PLO flags were flown undisturbed.
In a video he uploaded to his social networks, Hochman wrote as follows: “Europe 2024 – history repeats itself. A Jew with one flag is escorted out, so that the supporters of Palestine who wave a flag in violation of Eurovision rules – stop cursing and spitting.”
