At the end of October, Guus Meeuwis will be in New York’s Webster Hall to celebrate his 25th anniversary. The concerts have already been postponed twice in a row due to the crown, but now Americans can enjoy the show too. “The lineup is being worked out, we’ll rehearse next week, it’s slowly starting to warm up and come alive,” says the singer.
The fan t-shirts are ready, the clothes are on their way. Meeuwis can’t wait, she tells Omroep Brabant. “We have plans in mind to make the performance there unforgettable. I can’t wait to do that and I’ll go to New York first to enjoy the city.”
Webster Hall is both a concert hall and a recording studio. In the past, famous artists such as Ray Charles and Elvis Presley recorded their music there. Aerosmith and Prince were also on stage for performances.
Smile
“Once I’m in New York, we will quickly go to Webster Hall, to see what it feels like to connect a guitar to the amplifier there,” says Meeuwis. “And then we will play and I hope there will be many happy compatriots and here and there a lost American in front of me. These are very nice projects to do, so I will be on stage with a smile and enjoy them.”
In Holland he has been several times in 013 and in the Philips Stadium. “I think I’ve handled it pretty well, I’m proud of myself.”
Guus Meeuwis was also in Paris and London.
