On Tuesday, the Association for the voluntary blood donation of Gueugnon and its surroundings opened the doors of the town hall for the last collection of the year. Of the 80 appointments available online on the French Blood Establishment (EFS) site, 62 donors were collected. Among them were three newcomers, including Florien Bliez, 21, from Gueugnon. “I had only donated my blood once a while ago, and haven’t taken the time to do it again since. Consulting the EFS site, I saw that stocks were at a minimum. I received an email informing me of this collection, so I have returned and intend to give my blood regularly. If I can help save lives, so much the better. »
Heating and truck failure
The 2022 budget is once again down, according to Marie-Claude Girard, president of the friendly gueugnonnaise. “This decrease is mainly due to our two retreats in January and April which were canceled due to a breakdown in the heating of the council house and the EFS lorry which broke down on the RCEA. We therefore counted 127 fewer donors than in 2021. In 2021, out of 1,075 appointments, 912 donors showed up and 835 were collected. This year, out of 850 appointments, 770 showed up and 708 were honored. On the other hand, we had six other new donors. We thought that the five collections in the afternoon would have sensitized more donors, but this remains uncertain. »
PRACTICAL Next collection on Tuesday 10 January 2023 from 8:00 to 12:30 at the municipal center of Gueugnon.
