Gutkowski apologizes for his unruly actions and red card
Riga, Sept. 3, LETA. Latvian men’s national football team striker Vladislavs Gutkovskis has apologized for his unruly actions and red card in the European Football Federation (UEFA) Nations League match.
It has already been reported that Latvia played a draw 0: 0 (0: 0) with Andorra on Thursday. The hosts had several opportunities to score, but the result remained the same.
Gutkovskis’s knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Gutkovskis, he bravely continued in the match. He will have to miss at least one game, but UEFA may decide on additional sanctions when assessing the seriousness of the infringement.
“Today I played my first game for the Latvian national team after a long break. In the second half something happened that I can’t explain myself. I wanted to apologize to my teammates and fans. I am very ambitious and always leave my heart on the field. I understand that I made a mistake today , but it will never happen again, “Gutkowski writes on the social network Twitter.
Three days after the duel with Andorra, a game against Malta is planned for the away team.
The winner of the first group of the League of Nations D will secure a place in the C league of the next season or in the third level by force. The weakest national teams in the D league play.
The second game in the League of Nations in September will also be the last for the Latvian national team, but on October 7 a test match is planned with the Montenegrin national team. Three days later, in the League of Nations, a trip to the Faroe Islands will take place, but on October 13, the Maltese team will visit Latvia.
