Érick Gutiérrez has a departure wish and hopes that Roger Schmidt will pick him up from Eindhoven. The midfielder doesn’t get much work at PSV and is ready for a new adventure.
Guti speaks in the Mexican podcast Euromexas about the next step in his career. The player indicated earlier in the season that he would talk to PSV after the cup final. Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij does not need the midfielder this season and that is bad for the Mexican. “Let him get me, let him get me,” says Guti with a wink about Schmidt, who is doing well at Benfica.
Under Schmidt, Guti played a greater role within PSV. “I have a lot of respect for him. He told me that PSV had rejected a proposal from Cruz Azul because he was counting on me,” concludes the footballer. Guti was taken over from Pachuta in 2018, but now has little prospect of playing time. The player extended his contract in August of last year and is therefore fixed in Eindhoven until 2025.
