Gus Miftah Responds Rp100 million Mumtaz Rais: No Aji Not Sold

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School caregiver, Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman alias Gus Miftah | reluctant to have polemics with messages via video from the Chairman of the PAN DPP Ahmad Mumtaz Rais. He emphasized that the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School was ‘not for sale’ for political purposes.

In the viral video, the son of Amien Rais stated that he would ask for support from the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School which was cared for by Gus Miftah, and would also make a donation of up to Rp. 100 million there.

Gus Miftah stated that the Islamic boarding school he started from the start had never begged for donations, especially if it was required to support a certain party.

“What needs to be noted first is that Ora Aji does not have a permanent donor, because it is a foundation, people give students, please go ahead. But there are no later people who entrusted it using various conditions,” said Miftah when contacted, Tuesday (5/10) .

“If he wants to donate someone’s birthday, go ahead, anyone can. But it’s not a donation, it’s called a donation, it’s a donation to our cottage, there’s no donor (permanent). If he gives a birthday, he makes a donation but uses threats, right? leave it alone,” continued this eccentric preacher.

Basically, he said, the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School also never refused donations from outsiders. So far, without being asked, there have been many donors who have given their wealth to the students and that too without conditions.

“But if we say that politically we have to choose someone, or I donate if I choose who, the language is like this, Ora Aji Now didol,” he insisted.

Miftah also made sure that Mumtaz’s video was made without any approval from the Islamic boarding school. But, Ora Aji also doesn’t want to worry about this matter.

“We don’t have anything to do with people who make it not us. Let the people judge. The congregation will judge. Take the class Ora Aji is dazzled with Rp. 100 million, right? yes it’s not funny. Wong we, with more than 300 students, are all free to eat, drink, study at the cottage. You can calculate how much you spend per month to, said Miftah.

Previously, a video featuring Mumtaz went viral on social media. In the one-minute video, Mumtaz, who calls himself Bang Jago, conveys a happy 9th anniversary to the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School. He stated that he would donate Rp. 100 million to the congregation of the Islamic boarding school, namely Kintiliyah.

“Bang Jago took direct action, not theory, donated Rp. 100 million in cash for all of Kintiliyah,” Mumtaz said in the video.

Mumtaz, who is the Chair of the PAN DPP for Organizational Development and Membership (POK) then expressed his intention to ask for support from the Kintiliyah congregation in the 2024 Election. He also threatened to stop his donation if the congregation did not vote for him in the 2024 Election.

“Gus, remember the 2024 election, don’t sell the DPR RI from other parties. Single Mumtaz Rais. Not Kamto, not Kamta, not Mbah Badri, not Gandong, not others. If not, I will stop donating to the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School. I Love you full, full, Gusku,” concluded Mumtaz in the video.

CNNIndonesia.com have contacted Mumtaz via WhatsApp messages, telephone lines, or his personal Instagram account to confirm the material from the viral video. However, until this news was written, the person concerned has not responded.

In the video, Mumtaz is wearing the uniform of his party, PAN. In the party that was founded by his father, Mumtaz served as Chairman of the PAN DPP for Organizational Development and Membership (POK).

In parliament, Mumtaz last became a member of Commission VI in charge of trade, industry, and state-owned enterprises.
