Ketum Gerindra Prabowo Subianto visit the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School and make a pilgrimage to the grave of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur. On the sidelines of the visit, one of the grandsons of the founder of NU KH Hasyim Asyari, KH Irfan Yusuf Hakim or Gus Irfan, spoke about Gus Dur’s ‘prediction’ about the Minister of Defense.
Prabowo’s visit to Tebuireng is a continuation of the Lebaran friendship trip in East Java. In Tebuireng, Prabowo was greeted directly by the leader of the Tebuireng Islamic boarding school, KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz or familiarly called Gus Kikin.
Then Prabowo and Gus Kikin held a closed-door meeting. After the meeting, Prabowo with his entourage and Gus Kikin headed to the tomb of the late Gus Dur.
“I’ve come here often, feel close to the big family (ponpes) Tebuireng. And during this holiday I’m going around the Eid gathering with my old friends. The discussion is light, let go of feeling nostalgic, yes, “said Prabowo , Wednesday (4/5/2022).
Prabowo’s arrival attracted the attention of a number of students and local residents who asked to take pictures together. Their request was welcomed by Prabowo.
“Gus Dur is a leader whose vision is far ahead (visionary). He is also a friend and I am a craftsman drinks he. And I think I was very close to the deceased,” Prabowo said when asked about the figure of Gus Dur.
Proximity Prabowo with Gus Dur is already widely known to the public. The thing that is most memorable regarding Gus Dur’s view of Prabowo is Gus Dur’s statement that Prabowo is the most sincere person.
“If the person who is most sincere to the Indonesian people is Prabowo. Yes, there are many (things) that show how sincere he is to the Indonesian people,” said the late Gus Dur in one of the national TV shows.
Not only that, Gus Dur also once said that Prabowo would become president at an old age. This was confirmed directly by KH Irfan Yusuf Hasyim, one of the grandsons of the founder of NU KH Hasyim Asyari who is also a member of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School family.
“I quote Gus Dur’s words, he once said Pak Prabowo will become president at an old age. God willing, 2024,” said Gus Irfan.
