“Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi-do Charges 40 Realtors for Illegally Charging High Brokerage Fees”

The Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi-do booked about 40 realtors on charges of receiving brokerage fees that exceeded the legal commission rate from a group of landlords who were suspected of “cheaping.”

They are accused of receiving brokerage fees that exceed legal fees while brokering a charter transaction for a house owned by a landlord and a group of people in the metropolitan area.

The police believe that they brokered a charter contract without properly informing the tenant while brokering a dangerous sale such as a so-called ‘can charter lease’, in which the jeonse price is higher than the sale price.

Previously, as a result of the police receiving and investigating the complaint of “cheap fraud” in February, it was found that the landlord Koh and his gang had signed charter contracts for about 940 houses in the metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi.

The police believe that Mr. Ko and others entered into a contract for sale and lease in the so-called “no-capital gap investment” method, in which the purchase price is paid with the deposit paid by the tenants, and the investigation is continuing by applying fraud charges.
