Earthquake magnitude (M) 5.3 centered in Gunungkidul, DI Yogyakarta is felt as far as Ponorogo, East Java. Residents who have woken up in the morning and performed the Fajr prayer also feel the severity of the shaking earthquake.
One of the residents of Kunti Village, Bungkal District, Bima Sakti said that he originally wanted to wake up to perform the Fajr prayer. He admitted that he was surprised because the earthquake was strong.
“Suddenly there was a roar, at first I thought I was wrong. It turned out that the more the shaking became stronger,” said Bima to detik.com, Monday (28/6/2021).
Another resident, Aldila Candra said the same thing. However, his party chose to be at the door of his house because it was raining.
“It’s raining heavily now, if you want to leave the house, you’re also afraid of getting wet. So just wait at the door, if it gets faster, you run out,” said Aldila
Other residents, Gayuh Knight after performing dawn prayers were felt two earthquakes. Earthquake the first is still a little light. The second earthquake got louder.
“Because of panic, my child was carried to the front of the house. Because of the rumbling sound. I was afraid of why,” concluded Gayuh.
Information released at BMKG, earthquake occurred at 05.15 WIB, with a magnitude of 5.3 and a depth of 48 kilometers. The coordinates of the earthquake were 8.49 South Latitude-110 East Longitude, 55 kilometers southwest of Gunungkidul, DIY. The earthquake has no potential for a tsunami.
