The head of the Gunungkidul Health Service (Dinkes) Ismono in Gunungkidul, Tuesday, said that the activity is to improve the health and immunity of children by providing vitamin A and eradicating polio through vaccination.

“We report on the activity of giving vitamin A to all children as well as data on the PIN for level 1 polio rounds and stunting assessments. In June 34,019 children were registered. After children aged 0- 6 months removed, it is estimated that around 33,000 children will receive vitamin A,” said Ismono.

Ismono also said that the performance of the first round of polio vaccination in Gunungkidul had reached 99 percent, exceeding the WHO target of 95 percent.

“PIN achievement for the first round of polio has reached 99 percent. This will allow us to continue to the second round,” he said.

Ismono said that the second round of polio PIN coincided with the month of the vitamin campaign which started on August 6, 2024, coinciding with the vitamin A campaign and child weight at the same time. “The goal is to achieve vitamin A, polio and baby weight,” he said.

Gunungkidul Regent Sunaryanta stressed the importance of preparing the health of the next generation for a better future.

He said the Gunungkidul Regency Government was committed to providing health programs, such as providing vitamin A and polio vaccination.
