Formula E: Günther triumphs in New York

Maximilian Günther clinched his first Formula E win of the season. The Oberstdorfer in the BMW surprisingly prevailed on Saturday at the spectacular ePrix in New York against the French Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah). Günther, who started from fourth position, only took the lead shortly before the end.

Lucas di Grassi (Brazil / Audi) completed the podium. The three-time DTM champion Rene Rast (Minden / Audi), who started from position 22, made up twelve positions in the tenth race of the season and ended up in tenth place. Formula E is the very first racing series that is allowed to drive in New York.

Former Formula 1 driver Pascal Wehrlein had to finish the race after the eleventh lap. The 26-year-old braked in the tenth corner and collided with Alex Lynn (Great Britain / Mahindra Racing). Wehrlein’s team-mate Andre Lotterer (Duisburg) finished eighth.
