Guns N’ Roses treats New York to a flaming Welcome to the Jungle in 1988

Eventually Appetite for Destruction reached the top of the charts in August 1988, over a year after its release. The classic lineup, consisting of vocalist Axl Rose, bassist Duff McKagan, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, and drummer Steven Adler wouldn’t last long. The latter is due to problems with addiction during the recording of successor Use Your Illusion expelled from the band, Stradlin leaves the band during the 1991 double album tour, and Slash and McKagan follow suit a few years later.

Not In This Lifetime

Rose is the only member to remain constantly active under the name Guns N’ Roses and, with an army of guest musicians, will release the long-awaited album in 2008 Chinese Democracy from. In 2016 there is finally the Not In This Lifetimetour, in which the singer will once again take the stage with Slash and McKagan. It is not a full reunion: Stradlin and Adler are not present.

Nevertheless, the tour is a huge success, including two performances in the Goffertpark in Nijmegen. On June 23, 2022, Guns N’ Roses will be in the Stadspark in Groningen.
