Gunman opens fire outside popular Harlem bar, injuring four people

NEW YORK — Four people were hospitalized early Sunday after a gunman opened fire outside a popular Harlem bar, police and firefighters said.

According to police sources, at least three of the wounded were gathered outside the bar at closing time when the brazen gunman stood in the street and opened fire on the group. A fourth person was also hospitalized with unknown injuries. The shooting victims were all men, ages 21, 39 and 46, police said.

None of the gunshot wounds are believed to have been fatal, but the full extent of everyone’s injuries was not immediately clear.

Police say shots were fired around 4 a.m. at Just Lorraine’s Place 2 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.

The alleged gunman fled on foot and investigators have been canvassing the neighborhood looking for evidence and possible surveillance video that will lead them to the suspect.

Witnesses told detectives the gunman was wearing a red hat, jacket and dark pants.

An investigation is ongoing.
