An unidentified gunman opened fire at the US Senate office near the Congress, according to US media. The US Capitol police reported searches in the Senate buildings.
“Our officers are conducting searches of and around Senate office buildings in response to a 911 call,” a statement posted on the agency’s official Twitter page said. “Everyone inside should stay hidden as the message was about a possible gunman.”
However, local police are currently unable to confirm media reports of sounds of gunfire in the building.
