A man in illegal possession of a rifle and a loaded handgun was arrested in Coachella, California, near a rally of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
The Secret Service confirmed it was aware of the arrests, saying neither Trump nor the rally goers were in danger during Saturday’s incident. “While no federal arrests have been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing,” the Secret Service, FBI and US Attorney’s Office said in a joint statement.
