Gunfight with Undercover Israeli Soldiers, 2 Palestinian Intelligences Killed

JENIN – Two members of military intelligence Palestinian Authority (PA) and a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group (PIJ) were killed in a shootout with a number of soldiers Israel yesterday in Jenin.

Palestinian media reports quoted Jerusalem Post said Israeli soldiers infiltrated Jenin, the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, disguised as civilians to pursue two members of the Al-Quds Brigades, PIJ, named Jamil al-Amouri and Wissam Abu Zaid.

Seeing the actions of the Israeli soldiers undercover in Jenin, two PA military intelligence immediately opened fire. A shootout between the two camps was unavoidable.

Two members of the PA military intelligence who died were Adham Yasser Eleiwi and Tayseer Ayasa.

Muhammad Samer Al-Bazour, another member of the PA military intelligence, was seriously injured.

Two members of the Al-Quds Brigade, Jamil al-Amouri and Wissam Abu Zaid, were arrested and detained. However, al-Amouri died from the wounds sustained in the gunfight.

Army Radio on Thursday (10/6/2021) reported Israeli secret forces entered the city of Jenin to pursue two people they called Palestinian “armed terrorists”.

Israeli troops were seen leaving the city of Jenin pulling a civilian car after the incident.

After the incident, dozens of Jenin residents took to the streets carrying Palestinian flags while chanting the takbir “Allahu Akbar”.

A strike has been declared in the city to mourn those who died.
