At least one shot was fired during a fight between two groups of young people in Berlicum, Brabant, on the night of Friday to Saturday. The police have arrested three minor suspects.
The incident took place around 0.20 am on the Braakven. Multiple shots may have been fired. It is not known whether there were any injuries.
Shell casings were found, but no weapon, a police spokesperson said. He says he does not know what type of weapon was fired. It may be a BB gun, a pellet gun.
The police have launched an investigation and are calling on witnesses to come forward. The arrested young people are two sixteen-year-old boys from Rosmalen and Berlicum and a seventeen-year-old boy from Den Bosch.
It is the second time in a week that teenagers have been involved in a shooting. Two eighteen-year-old men were arrested on Thursday evening after an incident with a firearm on a train at Rotterdam Central station. “This could have ended very differently,” police said.
