That’s what Gündoğan (44) says in an interview with the Telegraph† She will return to the Chamber tomorrow as ‘Member Gündoğan’. Gundoğan was suspended by Volt in February after reports of transgressive behavior. Then Gündoğan went to the judge, who agreed with her. But things got out of hand and Volt eventually kicked her out of the party.
Lies and slander
She had previously indicated that she would like to return to her old party, if her name would be cleared. But that option is now definitely off the table, she says. She calls the accusations of her former party members lies and slander.

“Oh, there are so many opinions and stories about me, but I like to stick to the facts,” she says. She says no one, except her group members, would have ever heard her scream or see her “play unreasonably.”
“I can defend myself endlessly, but the statements that have been made are all anonymous. The few who did put his name on it say ‘she didn’t do that to me’.”

She also lashes out at Volt leader Laurens Dassen in the interview. “They accuse me that I got drunk once in Lisbon. Then why isn’t it told that Laurens was also taken into a taxi la-za-rus? Because you only have one motive, and that is to hurt me.”
Gündoğan will go back to work tomorrow for the first time. She will focus on the themes of finance, democracy and the rule of law and will divide herself left of center on the political spectrum. “But on the progressive side. Somewhere between PvdA and D66.”
Uncomfortable
When asked if she’s afraid to run into her former party members from Volt again in the corridors, she replies: “No, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I hope they start to feel a little uncomfortable.”
