Iraq will host the championship for the second time in its history after the first in 1979, when the capital, Baghdad, hosted its fifth edition, and the Iraqi team crowned the first of its three titles, rich with its attendance record.
A press conference was held in the city of Basra on Saturday, during which the website for the sale of match tickets, identified in four categories, was launched.
The head of the Iraqi Football Federation, Adnan Darjal, said during the conference, “We hope the ticketing process will be easy and easy to attend the Gulf 25 matches.”
Basra governor Asaad Al-Eidani expressed his hope for a successful tournament: “We aspire to be a successful and distinguished tournament in all respects, with our welcome to all brothers and friends.”
The Iraqi federation said in an official statement, “The mechanism for ticket sales will be electronic and a website for ticket sales has been specified according to each category.”
He explained that the tickets will allow you to attend two games, the prices of which vary according to the colors: the color green is $30, the color yellow is $20, the color red is $14 and the color blue is $10.
The Organizing Committee of the 25th Gulf Championship has allocated five outlets for direct sale of match tickets in the oil-rich city of Basra, starting on 25 December.
A large number of Gulf fans are expected to flock to the border city of Basra with the state of Kuwait.
The Iraqi government had previously decided to cancel the US$200 visa fee to enter its lands as part of the encouragement to attend matches, as well as the planned facilitation related to the entry mechanism for fans of teams from the countries of the Arabian Gulf via Kuwait.
The Arab Gulf Cup is held once every two years and the 25th Gulf Cup sees Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman in the first group, and Qatar, Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain, the defending champions, in the second . group.
