In October 2016, Mauro announced his departure from dEUS, after having played with the band for 12 years and over 500 times. In February 2017, Mauro played his (provisional) last concert at dEUS in a sold-out Lotto Arena. Mauro also fell in last summer when the previous guitarist Bruno De Groote decided to leave the band after a stroke.
“We were forced to look for a replacement for Bruno”, the management of dEUS said. “Since Mauro had already helped us out last summer, we ended up with him again. Mauro also contributed to the new album, which will feature both the previous and the new guitarist.
