British guitar legend Jeff Beck died of meningitis on Tuesday. He lived to be 78 years old.
Jeff Beck’s own family reports it on his official Twitter account.
“On behalf of his family, it is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing,” Beck’s Twitter account said.

Beck truly rose to fame when he played with the Yardbirds, where he took over the position of guitarist from another guitar legend, Eric Clapton, in 1965. He has toured with the Jeff Beck Group ever since.
Beck was known as one of the world’s most accomplished guitarists. And he finished in fifth place Rolling Stones list of the best guitarists in the world.
According to various media, Beck must have insured his fingers for huge sums – seven million pounds according to the British newspaper The Guardian.
